THE CO-OPERATIVE WINS WORLD RETAIL AWARD FOR RE-BRAND

The Co-operative’s major rebranding, the biggest in UK corporate history, has been recognised at a global level.

The Co-operative has won the World Retail Award for ‘Best Use of Traditional Media’ for its brand re-launched last year featuring its high profile “Good for Everyone” commercial, which was the first to use Bob Dylan’s “Blowin’ in the Wind.”

To date the £1.5 billion rebranding exercise has seen more than 4,000 outlets across its family of businesses which includes food, pharmacy, funerals, travel, motors, financial services and legal services converted to The Co-operative.

The Co-operative fought off fierce competition from global businesses and brands in its category to collect the prestigious award at the ceremony in Berlin.

Peter Marks, Group Chief Executive at the Co-operative Group said: “To win this prestigious global award shows the impact our new brand has had since it was launched and it acknowledges, not only the campaign, but our colleagues who deliver our brand every day to our millions of members and customers.”
